Control Your Comparison Dialogue and Feel Happier With Yourself
It's not just other people you compare yourself to

By our very nature, human beings indulge in comparison regularly. But it’s not just other people we compare ourselves to; we also compare ourselves with our past and ideal selves.
So if we aren’t doom scrolling and watching other people’s highlight reels flash before our eyes, we are casting our minds back to the days when we were more successful, thinner, happier, healthier, faster, fitter, stronger, richer… blah blah blah.
And if we aren’t comparing the person we are today with the person we once were, we may be comparing who we are now with the image we have in mind as our ideal self.
There’s a reason no one wakes up each morning and thinks, “Oh yippee, another day of comparisons,” because comparing ourselves sucks. Comparison only serves to make us feel shitty.
If you compare yourself with those who are less fortunate than you to feel good about yourself, I hope you can learn to boost your self-esteem and happiness in kinder ways!
