Hi Ali, Thank you so much for this great article. I had never heard of The Dark Night Of The Soul, but I feel like I have definitely experienced it through my Childlessness. So many of the things you said 100% resonated with me. Thank you for bringing this concept to light. Wishing you peace & joy!

Thanks for reading. It’s complex isn’t it. But it makes sense. And it also brings some sense of relief, this is the journey of life.

It is very complex, but for me extremely relatable. I shared it with some friends who really enjoyed it as well. Thank you so much!

Wow! Thanks for experiencing your dark night of the soul, Ali. You've illustrated the meaning of the phrase so clearly with your experiences. I don't believe I've ever had a dark night of the soul!

Have you learnt much about it with all your learning?

Ali, I've heard the term, but I've never learned much about it. I think the term is used more in Christianity than in Eastern religions. I've honestly learned the most from reading this article!

Ali, This is what I found on Wikipedia: "The Dark Night of the Soul (La noche oscura del alma) is a phase of passive purification of the spirit in the mystical development, as described by the 16th-century Spanish mystic and poet St. John of the Cross in his treatise Dark Night (Noche Oscura), a commentary on his poem with the same name."
